Default HA ... not meant for heroes ? (not a talk on npcs ~~)

Heroes have to be proud and learn from their mistake everytime they happen to make one. They have to grind the hard scale to get to the hall of heroes and gain fame.
However ... I seem to have started to pvp a bit late (some months ago). I wont go back to pve, it's just not fun anymore. I'm only glad 1, and I just don't want to get higher in glad rank in RA 'cause I think its useless.
Soo ... started to do HA and to search for a GvG guild. This is normal right ? I guess all of you did somewhat the same ~~

So so so ... I get my Warrior with the most basic Erf Shakur build I can have, and I proudly enter the HA zone ...
Suddently, my chat gets filled with "r3+", "r6+" and "r9-11+" and I can't find a group. I did everything I could. I did some randomway, and got like 10 fame with 5 days of playing ... I tried to join a guild, but they all want ("need" ?) experienced players. I even pmed ranked groups if they could make me, the only one unranked, a bit more ranked and experienced.
Then I started with the lame PS assa everybody wants (no easier thing than play that) ... same again, no group.

Then, just what can I do ? I do not believe I am bad (or I would not attend to go to the Hall of Heroes, wouldnt I ?), I even believe I am good with frontliners and mesmers (if only I could find just someone who could give me advices on playing PD .... I pmed lots of people that were crying "r10+", and couldnt get even one answer, I did try huh ..).

So the question now is, what can I do ? What should I do ? Find a guild that does pve and sometimes pvp and pray that they'll organize a pvp sometime ?? Already done, it's just useless. I cannot find a pvp guild because everyone wants a rank. I dont know from where I should start.

get a higher glad rank (r2+) and join a semi decent pvp only guild. Or keep randomwaying until r3. Up to you.

one simple solution. Form your own teams.

and on the fact that you do not belive you are bad, most (if not all) people think like that. Chances are you are bad, just because you lack the experience. People in HA want the biggest chance of winning and chances are with a r6 ,9, 10+ player the chances they win are bigger then playing with someone that doesn't know the maps and mechanics of pvp.

We all have been in your situation and managed to improve. Just try to get into unranked pugs, randomways and maybe you will get a ranked pug. Keep trying to get a guild of the same skill level, i see unranked guilds recruiting in id 1 all the time.

Hey guys, how's it going, been away since July. Just decided to come in and see if anything has changed....lol....looks like I'm not missing much.

Do what I did....find a new game. And don't listen to that r3 crap, because it gets no better when you're r6, I know.

Rank hate is bullshit. Just wait around for the double fame weekends. Lots of unranked groups show up and then you just have to start making friends.

I am not really, if at all, a leader, so I don't think the right thing is to form my own groups.
I guess I'll just seek a pvp guild, and try to find a decent one, even if not for HA ? It has become too hard, even with being polite, to find any other polite ranked group ~~

I'll find other ways than just sitting there talking in whispers

either get a better glad rank or play with people you know. even pugs play to win, and letting an unranked player join their team doesn't help their odds - there's a pretty high chance that unranked players are bad, and they're definitely inexperienced. it doesn't matter if you're as good as you think you are, people who haven't played with you before only have your rank to go by.

There are a few options you have of getting into a team

1. Go to the PvP guild recruitment section of this forum, look for a guild there. If you can't find one, start a new thread in the looking for guild section. Get a better glad rank if you aren't having much success.

2. Keep Pugging and get rank 3. Then realise you need rank 4/5 now to find even a meta group. But while you Pug you can make a fairly long friends list, or even find somebody that has a half decent guild

3. Ventari section 4k/fame. Obviously this isn't the best option as you do need the experience of playing, but if you can't stand the next 6 months grinding 2 fame per day, it becomes an option.

Which means ? GvG ? It's even harder to find a guild.

For sure, I wont do 4k/fame. That's just not what I want. I guess having a better glad rank is the only option ... (2 fame per day is not something to do, I wont learn anything with this)

This is just the nature of the beast when it come to HA. I know how you feel, I started PvP late as well and it took forever to get my r3 title. My advice to you is to slowly start building up a friends list of people who will take you even though you are unranked.

That is what I did, but I still had to use heros for most of my matches. The sad thing is people will still complain about you using heros but honestly if so many people can not get into groups what is to be expected!

Now everytime I get a 1/2 or 1/4 cast inturpted by a hero I think back to the days when I had no rank

Gl to you.

EDIT: and use the link the guy above me gave you if you are looking for a guild.

If you want to pug in HA:
1. Find the flavor of the month build and get the skills you need
2. Start looking for a group
3. Once you are in a group try to get as far as possible

Something very important: DON'T SHOW THAT YOU ARE NEW TO HA! Pretend you know everything , that you are the best thing to come to GW. If you admit you are new you'll most likely get kicked.
Using this method you will learn the least amount , but you should get enough fame to form better groups.

The rank is meant for this kind of crap.

it's the only referance ppl have when pugging.

who do you think has more skills? a r7 or a glad 1 claiming he is good?

i would go for the r7

and trust me, when i had a bambi i also thought i was good. but i was far from good when i look back. lol

as for getting you into HA. just spend alot of time in that cave. get vent+mic. pug that like 180 fame? start making friends, and before you know it. you spend 2000hours getting r9. to realise it's a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing waste of time and HA is boring as hell. and to hear "ebay" when you use your emote.

it comes down to this. too many ppl have failed before you, claiming they "were" good. that's why ppl don't bother taking random pugs with lower rank reqs.

Give up on HA, its full of bad people.

Find a GvG guild, choose a role you enjoy and play with as many people as you can and if your any good you will find better guilds want you to play for them.

keep in mind that, except ebayers, most ranked players have gone through this process, the problem you are facing is not anything new.

ask yourself:

1) can you take the piss of getting fame slowly, or even no fame out of few hours' gameplay?

2) how well do you enjoy pvp? you pvp for fun or for fame?

3) can you endure being frequently called nxxb? furthermore, will you think about what have you done wrong when you are being called nxxb?

4) are you really THAT good? what makes you think that you are better than other players?

5) will you RAGE when you lose? if you do, quit HA, sometimes you simply have to admit that there are people playing better than you do, and there are many of these people.

if you can endure losing/flaming/monotonous fame grinding/imbalanced builds/bad tempered teammates/stupid teammates/9-year-old kids/and so on, then you are more than welcomed to HA.

and to give you some idea, it takes me 2 months to get to r3 two years ago, playing against a (smart/lame) build called iway, and there are always some lame builds out there waiting for you, you either join them, or you think of a way to counter them.

so, if you get a r9 emote someday, and you look back, you will realise how your thread doesnt make sense.
